Install FBML on a Facebook Page
This is the first part of a two-step tutorial on creating a “special” page for people to see that have not yet become “Fans” of your Facebook page. For people who are having trouble installing the FBML app in Facebook and are having trouble then this is a great tutorial for you as well. Once, you have followed this tutorial and have installed FBML on your Facebook page, please come back to Learntowebdesign.com and watch the second part of this tutorial and creating a custom page for people to join!
What do you need to do this tutorial:
1. a Facebook account
2. at least one Facebook page.

Super helpful, thanks!

Nice tutorial, really helpful, but I think the volume may be a bit low.

You made it so easy! Thanks for the tutorial. I tweeted it!
You are genius!!
I still can’t get it to work! It does not give me the option to add to my page, only to add to my page’s favorites. Can this be used on a fan page? Please help!
Lindsey, are you sure that you have an page created? You have to have a business/organization Fan Page to put install the FBML on. It is free to create a page.
Part two of this tutorial on FBML is now available on http://www.learntowebdesign.com.
Hello Lindsey, I think that I figured out what the problem with your installation might be. You must first CLICK “Add to My Favorites Pages” when you first go to the “Static FBML” application page. Once you click that, you are then offered a link to “Add Application to My page.”
I’m glad this discussion is occurring. On our blog I’ve posted a fairly exhaustive tutorial on installing and using Static FBML which you might find helpful. Used in combination with FBML and FBJS (Facebook Javascript), many things are possible, as demonstrated on the HyperArts Facebook Fan Page. I haven’t yet had time to dig deeper into FBJS, but definitely looking forward to it! Cheers. Great blog here!
Hi. I too am having problems actually adding the application rather than adding to my favourites pages. I am not being offer a link to “add application to my page”. Any suggestions? Cheers.
Hello Owen,
Can you send me a link to your Facebook page? I’ll take a look and see if something looks wrong.
Rebekah
